Back working in the Studio
It has been nearly six months now since I had my foot reconstruction operation, and I have just transitioned out of my stormtrooper boot into an addidas trainer (except when I go swimming, and need the boot to get to poolside, due to the very slippery conditions) which is fab.  I expect to be able to start driving in the next 2 weeks, which I am really looking forward to, as I have been going a little stir crazy having to rely on other people, although I have to say my husband Philip has been amazing and very patient.   Plus, the really good news is that I can now stand long enough to spend half days in the studio, so brilliant all round.

SOME NEW GICLEE PRINTS

Excited and pleased to announce that I have had a professional photographer photograph five paintings (images below) so that I can have some giclee limited edition prints made.  The edition size will only be small ie 15 in total plus an Artist’s Proof and the actual image size of the print will be approximately 15% smaller than the original canves.  They will be printed on archival paper and using a fine art quality ink, if anyone would like more information please do email me.

New Giclee Prints:-  in order from left to right, Sea Pool II, Sea Pool Renovations, Circles in the Sand, Release and Sea Pool I.

NEXT EXHIBITION

Erica Shipley and myself are taking part in Oxford Art Weeks in Watlington in the Watlinton Wellness Centre, 1 Cuxham Road, Watlington  OX49 5JW, open 18th – 27th MAY 10.30am – 5pm every day, EXCEPT Thursday when we will only be open until 2pm.
Other news, really overjoyed that in the past couple of months I have sold two of my Sea Pool series to open water swimmers (who would have thought), Sea Pool III has gone to Suffolk and Sea Pool II now lives in Devon. I had a mixed media acrylic and collage accepted into  the RSWA – the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour Open Exhibition which was in January (this also sold) and I currently have one piece (Harbour Walls) in the AKA Gallery in Cambridge in their Open Spring Exhibition which runs until 13th April.

Not able to work in studio at the moment due to foot operation!

NEWSLETTER

It is going to be December tomorrow, eek, somewhat scary how life is whizzing by, even when I have been laid up due to a foot reconstruction operation on 10th October.   Six weeks no weight bearing, that has been quite tough, but the good news is that I can now do partial weight bearing with my storm trooper boot on and everything is progressing nicely, I hope to be able to go for a swim in a couple of weeks.

So, art wise, obviously I have not been able to get into the studio for a while, although I have been managing to do some collage and sketchbook stuff, including an online concertina sketchbook course by Karen Stamper – she is amazing, and her online courses are the best I have come across for visual simplicity and fun.
In September with Erica Shipley and three, 3D artists  (sculpture, ceramics and glass) we had a wonderful week long exhibition in “The Old Fire Station Gallery” in Henley-on-Thames, – I have hopefully added a link to my homemade video (click here) of the exhibition for anyone who would like to see it.  And then just before my operation I managed to squeeze in a week down in Cornwall (Porthleven) doing a “Freedom in Painting” course with Ashley Hanson (always a brilliant tutor) and so fantastic to be down in Cornwall.
Something else that my be of interest is that I did an interview about myself and my art for Instagram / You Tube channel called ArtByArtist anyway link to video (click here) attached, slightly weird as I was sent the questions by email, so I have to ask and answer the questions, also, sorry about the ads at the beginning I have no idea how to delete them, way beyond my level of video skills at the moment.
Other news is that I have two large paintings going in to the AKA Gallery in Cambridge next week for their winter exhibition (images below) and I had a picture in the Ing Discerning Eye exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London, so all in all even with the foot, pretty good.

Anyway, wishing you all a wonderful Xmas and hope that 2024     is a fantastic year for you  ~ Antonia
